Depois de enviar uma apelação de tíquete, fiz o acompanhamento 5 vezes (dizendo que estava no Havaí em XX datas para me encontrar no tribunal). Demorei mais de 3 meses para receber uma carta com uma data proposta para o tribunal, ponto em que eu já tinha ido embora. Eu moro no Canadá, então não havia como viajar de volta a HI para o tribunal.

A resposta foi "você pode contratar um advogado para representar seu caso". Isso obviamente não é razoável visto que custaria mais do que o bilhete.

Além disso, a multa por excesso de velocidade era por ultrapassar um carro em uma faixa de passagem legal quando era seguro fazê-lo. Você quase sempre tem que acelerar para passar para fazer isso rapidamente e não colocar em risco os carros que se aproximam. Este foi o meu caso de apelação ...

Este é um estado com fome de dinheiro. Se você for parado, nem perca tempo escrevendo uma carta para o juiz, conforme sugerido pelo policial. Esse policial já sabe que se você é de fora da cidade ou do exército, o juiz vai fazer você pagar a multa. Essas leis de trânsito ridículas. Eles nem mesmo checam sua licença em pontos de verificação e fazem perguntas e apontam uma lanterna em seu rosto. O desperdício de dinheiro de impostos e essas violações são puro roubo.
