Principalmente os instrutores. O instrutor Harcus nos deixou mais em forma, sem dúvida. O instrutor Fred Knight nos guiou até cairmos. O sargento Ern Kirk foi a pessoa mais rápida que já vi em uma máquina de escrever.
Se ele te pegasse olhando para as chaves, ele iria golpear você nos nós dos dedos com uma bengala de bambu que ele carregava e que chamou de "Sticky McCane". Ele costumava dizer "Sticky McCane é o nome ... Wack ... Você não vai olhar para as chaves de novo. Ele estava certo. Superintendente Meldrum, por quem você estava sempre alerta quando precisava saudá-lo. Eu me lembro levantando-se com as palavras no interfone de Fred Knight ... "Suba no desfile". O alinhamento em ordem de nossas fases fora do refeitório. Uniformes e logotipos mudaram desde então e o slogan para SA Police no folheto de adesão era "Salus Populi Suprema Lex" que significava. A segurança das pessoas é a lei suprema.
Estou aposentado agora aos 66 anos e morando em WA agora, mas Fort Largs sempre será uma parte especial para mim.
