Em geral, o hospício oferece cuidados para o fim da vida. Recomendo enfaticamente a todos os usuários deste serviço que entendam que você está desistindo de seu direito de supervisionar cuidados. Eles têm seu próprio médico que não vai ver o seu ente querido, nem você, mas depende de várias enfermeiras ou funcionários para avaliar que medicação, quanto, com que freqüência será dada. Você não tem uma palavra a dizer. Você pode dispensá-los, mas se estiver em uma instituição, eles não permitirão que você permaneça, a menos que os protocolos do hospício sejam seguidos. Minha mãe estava no hospício no último ano de sua vida e nossa família decidiu usar o hospício do anjo da guarda. Minha mãe morava na Wesley Manor Retirement Community em Frankfort Indiana. Nós não poderíamos ter ficado mais satisfeitos. A comunicação, os serviços e a compaixão foram excelentes.
