Se você pretende enviar seu filho para a pré-escola / jardim de infância, pretende gastar entre US $ 25.000 a US $ 40.000 por ano. Por esse tipo de dinheiro, você espera um certo nível de serviço.

Diante disso, City and Country parece uma boa escola, mas, infelizmente, nunca vou descobrir. Minha principal reclamação deriva da política de excursão escolar deles. Eles exigem uma taxa de US $ 50 para ver as instalações e as salas de aula.

* uma concessionária de veículos que cobra uma taxa para visualizar seus carros.
* comprar uma casa que cobra $ 50 pela visitação pública.
* uma biblioteca que cobra para examinar as pilhas de livros.

Eu entendo uma taxa de inscrição, mas uma taxa para simplesmente ver a escola é um absurdo.

Quando pedi para isentar da taxa de excursão, a City and Country School respondeu que é "comum" que escolas particulares cobrem uma taxa por uma excursão escolar.

Não é verdade. Alguns sim. Wetherby-Pembridge e The Episcopal School, sim. A grande maioria não. Considerando que eu não gostaria que meu filho estivesse na atmosfera sufocante de uma Wetherby-Pembridge ou Escola Episcopal, vou presumir que exigir uma taxa para uma excursão escolar é um sinal de alerta de uma escola que não é adequada para nossa família. Quero que minha filha tenha um espírito livre e confiante, em uma atmosfera de fraternidade e igualdade. Esta NÃO é a impressão que tenho de Wetherby-Pembride e da Escola Episcopal. Extrapolando, provavelmente também não é o caso da C&C.

Os brilhantes padrões de estrela de ouro das pré-escolas particulares e independentes de Nova York, The Avenues, 92nd Y, Saint Ann's, Berkeley Carroll, NÃO exigem essa taxa absurda, e essas são as escolas que desejo fortemente para minha filha. Na verdade, Avenues (talvez a melhor pré-escola da cidade) quer que eu vá a * dois * passeios antes de me inscrever.

Se City and Country me ensinou alguma coisa, é que exigir uma taxa para ver uma escola é um bom sinal de alerta de uma escola cujo ambiente não é adequado para minha filha feliz, curiosa e de espírito livre.
