Não achei nada benéfico na Associação de Alzheimer, pois minha mãe lutou contra essa doença por vários anos. Havia uma falta completa de suporte por telefone. Não havia ninguém para me dizer como lidar com essa doença e qual texto SPECT. Não importa os médicos que são muito desdenhosos e não se importam com os idosos e o mal de Alzheimer, mas eu esperava mais da Associação do sul da Califórnia. Eu apenas lutei, batalhei sozinho tentando pesquisar o máximo que pude sobre a doença e o que esperar. Mas às vezes eu gostaria que houvesse alguém com quem eu pudesse conversar que pudesse me ajudar e tentar lidar com minha mãe e o que ela estava passando, porque eu não conseguia entender. Não entendi que ela não estava deliberadamente tentando ser difícil, mas que sua mente ou o que restava dela não a impedia de agir da maneira que agia. Houve momentos em que eu choraria em seus confrontos comigo, sem saber que tudo isso fazia parte da doença. Eu só pensei que lidava com a memória. Não tinha ideia de que não apenas matava as células cerebrais, mas também as células cerebrais que controlavam as funções corporais. Ela finalmente morreu de uma morte horrível devido à doença. Mas, novamente, espero que a Associação de Alzheimer segure minha mão, mas também não esperava que apenas um monte de literatura inútil fosse jogada em mim. E especialmente durante uma pandemia que deveria ter sido meu suporte por telefone, sabendo que não houve reuniões que Eu poderia assistir e, além disso, como posso ir às reuniões quando eu era seu cuidador principal. Como um aviso para aqueles que estão cuidando de um pai com Alzheimer, por favor, pesquise por conta própria e comece imediatamente a ir ao Google e pesquisar tudo por conta própria, porque realmente não há suporte lá fora para você a menos que você tenha família e amigos que passaram pela doença

O atendimento de emergência que minha mãe de 88 anos recebeu na Alzheimer's Association California Southland Chapter do Dr. Alexander e sua equipe salvou sua vida e restaurou as capacidades motoras e de fala que ela havia perdido. Estou maravilhada com esta equipe, e embora eles possam apresentar este nível de excelência todos os dias, eu só tenho uma mãe, e não há dúvida de que SALVARAM A VIDA dela!
