Founded in early 2015, Tinoro was formed to fill an unmet need in the biotech space with the mission to design and manufacture low-cost, intuitive, and easy-to-use devices for scientists and healthcare professionals. Their team members have extensive experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, and the engineering sciences. Tinoro is developing a new, non-thermal technology which uses electric field induced pH changes to amplify DNA. This transformational technology enables the following: Small footprint (no need for bulky temperature control hardware) Low power requirements – rechargeable battery operation Fast reaction times (15 minutes vs typical 90-120 minutes) Much lower cost than traditional PCR devices
