I recently came across an amazing organization that is doing great work to protect our rivers. Hackensack Riverkeeper, Inc. is dedicated to the conservation and restoration of the Hackensack River, and their efforts are truly commendable. Their website, hackensackriverkeeper.org, is a treasure trove of information on the river ecosystem and the numerous events and programs they offer. I've participated in some of their river clean-up activities, and it was a rewarding experience. I highly recommend checking out Hackensack Riverkeeper and getting involved in their important work!
